beyond land acknowledgements

an ongoing effort to educate allies, amplify indigenous people, and provide resources to support the continuous work towards indigenous sovereignty.

The Boston Convention & Exhibition Center is sited on the traditional waters of the Massachusett/Massa-adchu-es-et, Naumkeag, Pawtucket, and Pokanoket people. These unceded waters and lands have been and continue to be taken, occupied, and colonized. Despite this, these peoples have stewarded this land and water throughout the generations, and we take a moment now to pay respect to them and their Elders both past and present.
In an effort to better understand and represent the greater goals of the local Indigenous peoples, we are utilizing our time and resources to educate our employees, elevate local Indigenous artists and change makers, and participate in ways appropriate for allies within the AEC industry to positively impact all members of the communities we design and build for.

‘BEYOND LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT’ HAS BEEN AN ONGOING EFFORT LED BY MYSELF AND MY COLLEAGUE, ANAHITA MOJAHED.
